The Proposal

In November of 2009, after dating for a little over a year, Taylor had shown Laura that he loved to suprise her and the proposal was no exception to that.  One weekend, Taylor said he would be over to Laura's house after he helped his cousin Mike move in DC.  All day, Laura received text messages from Taylor saying how he was sore from lifting couches, etc.  7PM, 8PM, and 9 PM came and went and Taylor was still not at Laura's.  Finally, around 10 PM he showed up.  By then, Laura he changed into sweatpants and a hoodie.  He had something under his jacket which he said was an early Christmas present.  It was a jewelry box - the kind with many drawers and doors on the side to hang necklaces.  He told her to look in the drawers.  At this point, Laura new something was up (like maybe a proposal?), but when she looked through the drawers, all she found was one of her old cheap rings that she thought she'd lost.  "He must be proud he found it," she thought.  As she turned around to thank him, Taylor got down on one knee and said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her!  After many moments of complete shock, Laura said, "Yes!"

As it turns out, Taylor had spent the day on the bus to and from New York City to pick up the ring he had custom made for her.  His cousin Mike moving was just a cover story!

PS - Taylor asked Mr. Szypulski's permission first, which scored many brownie points!
